How We Got Started

Scott Robins, Founder & CEO, started his career in technology sales for a value-added reseller. While always looking for creative ways to deliver more value to his customers, Robins suggested to a client that he could recover money already spent and use this to fund a new acquisition. Upon finding success with this approach, Robins stepped away from his sales role, knowing he could do much more for companies if he focused on this new business model.

And so in 2009, Virtual Procurement was founded.  Building on the success of that first transaction, Robins built a revolutionary business around the goals of recovering money already spent on technology and reducing spend on new technology acquisitions.

At the heart of that business is a groundbreaking predictive analytics tool (Virtual Vendor Index or VVI™), a unique system of proven negotiation processes, and a team of experienced service delivery experts.

Virtual Procurement has proudly expanded that success, licensing VVI™ to FF&E Analytics and OS&E Analytics who will utilize similar processes and experienced teams to replicate that tremendous cost savings and recovery success for all of your sourcing needs.

CEO, Founder

Scott Robins

Scott is the CEO and Founder of Virtual Procurement, responsible for its overall strategy and direction.

Scott Robins is the CEO of Virtual Procurement, the leading provider of technology and managed services designed to recover and save money from technology purchases. Robins is a seasoned technology executive with deep industry knowledge and leads the company’s strategy, operations and growth in the burgeoning virtual procurement market. Robins founded VPS in 2009 and leads a team of talented technology executives with offices in Connecticut and Florida.

Under Robins' leadership, VPS has helped clients recover millions of dollars annually from technology purchases. Robins brings extensive experience to VPS having previously served in leadership roles at Champion Solutions Group, JMT Consulting Group, and Denver Solutions Group.

Prior to working in the technology sector, Scott was a partner and investor in a number of hospitality and entertainment venues in Washington D.C.

Raymond Augustin

Raymond is an innovative leader with 30 years of experience and an eagerness to paint outside the lines.

Raymond Augustin is the COO of Virtual Procurement Services. Through a peregrination over the past 30 years as an engineer in Medical Device Manufacturing, consultant for Statistical Process Control, sales leadership in Semiconductor, IOT and energy management, one thing has been consistent – dissatisfaction with status quo and eagerness to paint outside the lines. He has extensive international experience and has worked with several innovative start-ups that were successfully acquired. His skillset and his experience have all been in preparation for this role. His time at VPS has been marked by a significant growth in the scope, revenue and customer base.
Executive VP of Service Delivery

John Torres

John brings over 25 years of sales and sourcing experience to his service delivery leadership.

With over 25 years of technology sales and sourcing experience, John leads the VPS service delivery team dedicated to our Gaming & Hospitality clients. Prior to joining VPS, he specialized in providing financial analytics solutions from best-of-breed software publishers to the Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Insurance sectors. John spent the decade before that focused exclusively on helping Nonprofit organizations and Social Services agencies to better leverage technology for helping foster their respective missions through optimal budget planning, compliance reporting, and donor management. That experience makes John’s contributions to reducing and recovering IT spend for Tribal gaming and governments uniquely rewarding.
Chief Technology Officer

Fred Brown

An innovative and experienced business leader with over 27 years of business, technology, and gaming & hospitality experience.

Fred has over 27 years of IT experience, including 14+ years in tribal gaming & hospitality leadership and over 13 years in strategic consulting spanning multiple industries. Prior to joining VPS, he was Corporate CIO for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, where he built and led the corporate IT group and was responsible for IT strategy, budgeting, integration, and oversight of 9 properties globally including one of the largest tribal gaming operations in the U.S., Mohegan Sun.

Jeff Tenen

Jeff brings over 22 years of technology procurement and sales background to his role as manager of service delivery.

Jeff brings over 22 years of technology procurement and sales background to his role as manager of service delivery. His extensive experience in healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and distribution provides a unique and valuable combination for clients of VPS. Prior to joining VPS, Jeff spent 12 years with a global reseller primarily focused on software licensing. In this role he was able to gain expertise for deciphering countless complexities associated with enterprise software and subscription agreements. Armed with this savvy insight, clients of VPS have the best guidance available.
